2025 Lincoln Aviator vs 2026 BMW X5
Serving Doral, FL
The 2025 Lincoln Aviator is a midsize luxury SUV that introduces improvements to its design and technologies. This three-row model is frequently considered alongside the BMW X5. The more expensive 2026 X5 is identical to its 2025 counterpart. Which of these luxury SUVs offers more for Florida drivers to benefit from on the road?
Performance
The Aviator is available in three trim levels in 2025. Each one is outfitted with a turbo 3.0-liter, V6 engine and a 10-speed automatic transmission. The output is 400 horsepower and 415 pound-feet of torque. The first two trim levels are available with standard rear-wheel drive or optional all-wheel drive. The top trim level comes with standard all-wheel drive. Lower trims have an optional adaptive air suspension system, and this is standard for the higher trim level.
The first two of the X5's four trim levels have a 375-horsepower, mild-hybrid turbo 3.0-liter, V6 engine. A turbo V6, plug-in hybrid system is also available, and it has a 39-mile all-electric range. For a premium price, the top X5 is equipped with a mild-hybrid, sport-tuned V8 that produces 523 horsepower.
Appearance
The refreshed design of the 2025 Aviator is stunning with a sophisticated front-end design and crisp upper and lower pinstripes across the sides. The sides also show off chrome accents across the lower door panels and the long air vent. The pinwheel-style wheels add a special effect. At the front, the almost triangular headlights are accented on two sides by an LED ribbon, and this ribbon extends into the grille.
The X5 has the same look that it's had for several years. The sides are deeply scooped while the back fenders are flared. A small air vent sits near the front fender, and the fenders are lined with dark molding. The front bumper has a three-sided chrome element, and the small grille is thickly outlined with chrome.
Features
The 2025 Lincoln Aviator is lavishly appointed across all trims. Select or all trims come with premium leather upholstery, Black Label special services, soft-close doors, advanced cabin illumination, heated seats in the first two rows, massaging front seats, a 28-speaker Revel audio system, rear sunshades, a panoramic sunroof, a four-zone auto climate control system, BlueCruise hands-free driving, automated parking, a surround-view camera and numerous others.
The X5's standard features are synthetic leather upholstery, a wireless charger, keyless entry, a push-button starter, a panoramic sunroof, a navigation system, ambient cabin lights, a three-zone auto climate control system, parking sensors and a few additional features.
